Filme sem partido?*

Nao escrevo por obrigacao, escrevo para nao perder a ideia que tive que no momento julguei ser consistente. Mesmo que daqui a uns 5 anos essa ideia nao tenha a mesma forca, sei que é preciso registrá-la. Portanto, só escrevo mesmo quando vejo necessidade, nao cumpro regras, contratos nem nada e por isso me sinto livre. 

Dois diretores, dois lados. Duas geniais ideias internacionalmente famosas sendo mostradas de diferentes perspectivas. Quem é Clint Eastwood além de um de meus diretores preferidos? Quem é Steven Spielberg, que sabia dirigir criancas com uma sensibilidade jamais igualada por nenhum diretor?

Ambos tem lados políticos, ambos deixam bem claras as suas visoes em diversos filmes. 

Vou pegar dois filmes, dois de cada. 

Gran Torino e Sully, por Eastwood.

Gran Torino é o típico filme para gerar discussoes nas mesas de jantar de família. O veterano de guerra(Guerra da Coréia) rabugento tem uma missao em sua ordinária vida entre uma cerveja e outra. Salvar um imigrante (olhado com bastante desprezo pelo veterano pelo fato de ser coreano), de ser levado pro mundo do crime. E faz isso com heroísmo ao máximo, entregando a própria vida. 

Quando vi esse filme achei o máximo, fiquei inspirado. Porém, nao entendia naquela época o que Clint Eastwood gostaria de passar. Somente quando vi muitos de seus outros filmes, quando enxerguei as nuances nos detalhes de cada cena e principalmente, quando soube da posicao política de conservador/republicano é que pude entender o Clint Eastwood. Clint é também pró-armas. 

A mensagem do filme é clara, um indivíduo tem que fazer da própria vida o meio para salvar um imigrante da criminalidade pois o governo nao é capaz de tal. Um ato, um indivíduo colocado acima da sociedade. 

Em Sully temos um outro ato heróico que salva vidas, porém é questionado (por esse mesmo governo negligente em gran torino) por ter pousado no rio em vez de voltar pro aeroporto. Ele prova contra o governo que ele nao tinha tempo para voltar pro aeroporto, e estava certo! A perseguicao que sofre foi insensata e autoritária. 

A mensagem em ambos os filmes é clara, o indivíduo é herói, deve ser exaltado quando age heroicamente, o governo(ou coletivo) é inútil e só atrapalha. 

Daí vem Spielberg. 

The Post e Bridge of spies

The post é um filme que nao tem como dar errado. História real, com atuacao brilhante de Meryl Streep. Esse filme exibe o poder da propaganda, ou melhor, o que ocorre quando Governo (EUA) e Mídia corporativa (EUA) se juntam para divulgar somente informacoes que lhes convem em troca de omitir tantas outras. A guerra do Vietnan acumulou vários crimes de guerra que por muitos anos ficaram longe do conhecimento dos americanos. Até que, uma mídia sacana e ousada, Washington Post, divulga tudo. E da noite pro dia todos os demais meios de comunicacao seguem o passo dela e também divulgam. O governo fica zureta! 

Esse filme mostra nao somente o poder da mídia mas de cidadaos que resolvem fazer uma denúncia séria mesmo que isso ponha suas vidas, carreiras, enfim, tudo em risco. 

Bridge of Spies é sobre um diplomata e um agente duplo russo que é usado como moeda de troca. O filme mostra o quanto nao existe lado "certo" ou "errado" quando ambos os gov. estao fazendo algo sujo (No caso EUA e Rússia).  A CIA tortura o prisioneiro, de novo, tudo baseado em fatos. 

A mensagem do filme também é clara. Nao existe heroísmo que nao venha com solidariedade e é exatamente o que faz o advogado James Donovan, representado por Tom Hanks. 

*O título do post é mera ironia. Imagina se tirássemos o partido de todos os filmes? Até os que sao baseados em fatos tem partido e isso depende da visao política do/a diretor/a. 

Trump X Bolsonaro - O voto em Bolsonaro é motivado por uma indignação semelhante ao voto em Trump, a maioria de pessoas brancas, classe-média desiludida e revoltada, e claro, os grupos de fascistas e neonazistas que abertamente apoiaram ambos os candidatos. Mesmo assim compará-lo com o gov. Trump é perda de tempo e inocência. O quadro geral do Brasil é grave para fazermos tal comparação e podemos afirmar categoricamente que o gov. Bolsonaro é muito pior que Trump. Pior no sentido de que Trump apenas precisou tocar o barco de uma economia que já se recuperava, com emprego em alta. No Brasil temos uma crise generalizada muito grande para ser revertida em pouco tempo. Além disso a campanha que ajudou eleger Bolsonaro foi muito mais feia, imunda, corrupta e envolta de polêmicas que a de Trump, com coerção de funcionários, caixa 2, lavagem de dinheiro e fake news até acusando o adversário Haddad de pedófilo. E o falso moralismo daqueles que levantaram a voz para defender seu candidato dizendo que não tinham corruptos de estimação cai quando vemos, por exemplo, seus líderes no congresso, três envolvidos em corrupção, Fraga, Ônix  e Pauderney.

Fantoches de distração - A única comparação coerente nesse momento entre Bolsonaro e Trump é da incoerência de ambos. Extremamente vaidosos, arrogantes e agindo por impulsos, além de demagogos, nunca sabemos se o que eles dizem será palavra e posto em prática. São figuras polêmicas e que por gostarem de flashes (Trump muito mais que o Bolsonaro) servem como distração para as câmeras enquanto medidas sérias ocorrem nos bastidores. E é isso que eu penso que vai ocorrer, a mídia corporativista alimentada pela distração através de discursos rasos, falas polêmicas , de baixo nível, discussões com jornalistas, boicotes, retaliações e muita fofoca(o brasileiro é particularmente chegado em fofoca) enquanto a austeridade neoliberal impõe sua vontade contra a maioria da população.

Fake News - O brasileiro é o usuário de internet que fica mais horas por dia conectado no mundo inteiro. Pelo alto índice de analfabetismo funcional se torna presa fácil da propaganda que circula em velocidade e quantidade fenomenais nas redes sociais. Um estudo recente diz que 90% dos eleitores de Bolsonaro acreditam em fake news. Temos amplificadores de conspirações e notícias falsas que têm alcance e audiência maiores que vários canais de TV ao mesmo tempo. Figuras públicas como Nando Moura, Olavo de Carvalho, e muitos outros que continuarão fazendo o trabalho sujo de manter seguidores presos aos seus discursos com retóricas conspiratórias. Como verdadeiras seitas propagandistas e falaciosas, deixariam Alex Jones cheio de inveja. Infelizmente o trabalho de desinformação que esses sujeitos fazem é enorme e levará muito tempo para desfazê-lo.

Temer 2.0 - O gov. Bolsonaro é a continuação da agenda imposta a força pelo impopular e desastroso governo de austeridade do Temer, com aprovações em avalanche de reformas e cortes, incluindo cortes de ministérios, orçamentos, reforma trabalhista que jamais seriam aprovadas caso houvesse consulta popular. A reforma da previdência e precarização da nossa já precária força de trabalho e inseguranca empregatícia, além de mais repressão e violência.

Apoio dos EUA - Em 2013, Edward Snowden, ex-agente do serviço de espionagem americana, denunciou que o Brasil era o principal alvo de espionagem dos EUA. O Wikileaks denunciou que Temer foi informante da CIA. A agenda neoliberal é empurrada a força no Brasil com apoio dos EUA para voltarmos a ser tentáculo estratégico dos EUA nas Américas. O Brasil foi ousado quando se soltou um pouco dessas rédeas, ao alinhar-se com os BRICS e consolidar o bloco do Mercosul. Ao alinhar-se com a China, também cutucou os EUA que não permitiriam que essa autonomia durasse muito tempo. Trump verá em Bolsonaro uma ilha no meio de enorme rejeição internacional que ambos sofrem, e esse amor já se mostra recíproco, além, claro, de perigoso no cenário atual que o mundo vive.

Neoliberalismo 2.0 (friendly fascism) - Bolsonaro não tem interesse em fazer governo para a classe-média, menos ainda para os mais pobres. Seu assessor Paulo Guedes nos deixa isto claro, que, alinhado com a já mencionada agenda neoliberal friendly fascist, Bolsonaro é outro governo deles (da elite, donos do poder), para governar para eles (elite, donos do poder). Se ainda há dúvidas sobre isso basta ver, por exemplo, como reagiu a bolsa de valores e o mercado em ambas as eleições (Trump e Bolsonaro). A nomeação e aceitação de cargo no Ministério da Justiça por Moro também deixa claro o corporativismo bem sólido de governo e justiça brasileiras. Moro colocou Lula, principal rival de Bolsonaro, na cadeia e durante 7 vezes desmentiu que aceitaria algum cargo político. Aceitou o convite de Bolsonaro sem pensar e em suas palavras, ficou "honrado". Nunca a hipocrisia foi tão explícita.
Paulo Guedes também defende mais privatizações e sua reforma tributária não deixa certo quem irá se beneficiar, mas podemos ter ideia de quem será beneficiados no governo montado sob encomenda para a elite do poder. Infelizmente ao contrário do que motivou os votos de muitos inocentes eleitores de Bolsonaro, não há absolutamente nada mais do mesmo, status quo, mais establishment do que o que esse governo propõe.

Violência - Será carro-chefe da política de Bolsonaro obviamente. O Brasil lista como dos países mais violentos das Américas e o respeito aos direitos humanos é quase nulo. A eleição de Bolsonaro já vem manchada de sangue com relatos por todo o país de pessoas sendo mortas ou atacadas por eleitores de Bolsonaro. A polarização continua muito forte e tóxica. E o que surpreende ainda mais é constatar que a campanha de Bolsonaro martela na intensificação da repressão policial com uso de violência ilimitada contra, inclusive, movimentos sociais e aumento de armas vendidas na população com a ideia de que com isso você irá diminuir a violência. Mais uso de ferramentas de violência para diminuir violência? É papo que soa como melodia para os fabricantes de armas e seus lobbistas.

Congresso descaracterizado mas conservador - Não será fácil para ninguém lidar com um país com fratura exposta pela crise generalizada, o gov. encontrará dificuldades também no legislativo, não sabemos como o congresso descaracterizado se comportará sem a hegemonia do MDB que sofreu previsível perda de assentos do MDB (perdeu metade dos assentos) e ascensão do PSL partido "incógnita" provavelmente representando os setores mais conservadores e retrógrados do país. As bancadas da bala, rural e principalmente a bancada evangélica cresceram e são bancadas tão retrógradas que não deveriam nem ter metade do poder que já têm. Ironicamente o PT, apesar dos infinitos ataques midiáticos continua sendo o partido com a maior bancada no congresso. Precisará também de esforço para conseguir aliancas, ainda mais com possível afastamento do PDT e uma nova aliança à esquerda.

Vice fardado - como se não bastassem todas as ameaças graves que pairam contra a frágil democracia brasileira, temos ainda a presença de uma figura obscura e autoritária como General Mourão, vice-presidente que em poucas palavras mostra o quão danoso pode ser.  Se algo ocorre com o Bolsonaro e o vice tem que assumir tudo mais distante de progresso podemos esperar.

Mídia corporativa brasileira -  Sempre esteve devidamente alinhada com os mesmos interesses, sendo controlada por 6 famílias, ironicamente, de alguns meses para cá, vemos leves farpas trocadas entre jornalistas e até anti-petistas fervorosos tentando colocar freio no aumento do ódio. Isso se confirma também nas ameaças, boicotes e retaliações que jornalistas que vão contra a onda Bolsonaro vêm sofrendo frequentemente. Nosso ranking de liberdade de imprensa ja é desastroso, mas nada que não possa ficar ainda pior. Bolsonaro deve manter isolamento da mídia corporativista, colocando-a em quarentena e falando apenas com as que o apoiam como a evangélica Record, espécie de Fox News com bíblia e o SBT, antigo aliado da ditadura. Essa estratégia de Bolsonaro de se manter calado funcionou durante sua campanha depois da facada.

Esperança? Enquanto houver resistência, sim. 42 milhões de eleitores brasileiros (mais de 2 Estados de São Paulo) não votaram em ninguém. 47 milhões votaram no outro candidato. São 90 milhões que não votaram em Bolsonaro. A classe dos artistas também se coloca majoritariamente contra o fascismo de Bolsonaro. O governo vai ter que conviver com esse barulho. Mesmo com tanta resistência assistimos estarrecidos a essa mancha escura que toma conta de algumas partes do planeta com a agenda mais carregada de tudo de pior que o sistema tem a oferecer, destruição de políticas sociais, destruição e ataque ao meio-ambiente e concentração de poder, além do aumento da violência e miséria.

Ainda estamos no início do inverno, que começou de alguns anos para cá. O início do inverno consegue ser suportável quando temos uma ideia de quando será o fim dele. No Brasil não temos essa ideia.

Trump X Bolsonaro - The votes for Bolsonaro were motivated by a similar revolt than the votes that elected Trump, mostly white people, disillusioned and revolted middle class, and of course the fascist and neo-Nazi groups who openly supported both candidates. Even so, comparing Bolsonaro to Trump is a waste of time and innocence. The whole scenario of Brazil is serious to make such a comparison and we can state categorically that the government Bolsonaro is much worse than Trump. Worse in the sense that Trump just had to avoid any action towards an economy that was already recovering, with employment on the rise. In Brazil we have a generalized crisis too big to be reversed in a short time. Nevertheless, the campaign that elected Bolsonaro was much uglier, filthy, corrupt, and filled with more scandals than Trump's one, with coercion of employees by their bosses, money laundering and fake news even one accusing Haddad of being pedophile. And the self-righteousness of those who raised their voices to defend their candidate by saying they had no pet corrupts contradict themselves when we see, for example, their leaders in Congress, three corrupt, Fraga, Onyx, and Pauderney.

Distraction puppets - The only coherent comparison now between Bolsonaro and Trump is their incoherence. Extremely vain, arrogant and acting on impulse, as well as two demagogues, we never know if whatever they say it can be taken seriously and put into practice. They are controversial figures and because they like flashes (Trump much more than Bolsonaro) it works as a distraction for the cameras while serious measures happen behind the scenes. And this is what I think is going to happen, the corporate media fed by distraction through shallow speeches, hot arguments, discussions with journalists, boycotts, retaliations and much gossip (Brazilians are particularly into gossips), while the austerity neoliberal agenda imposes its will against the majority of the population.

Fake News - Brazilians users are the ones who spend most time per day connected to the internet in the whole world. With high rate of functional illiteracy it makes them become an easy target for propaganda and defamation that goes around in phenomenal speed and quantity in social medias. A recent study says that 90% of Bolsonaro voters believe in fake news. We have conspiracy amplifiers and fake news that have reach and audience larger than several TV channels at the same time. Public figures such as Nando Moura or Olavo de Carvalho, and many others who will continue to do the dirty work of keeping followers blinds in their speeches with conspiratorial rhetoric. Like fallacious cults, they would leave Alex Jones full of envy. Unfortunately the damage done by these guys is huge and it will take a long time to reverse it.

Temer 2.0 - Bolsonaro is the continuation of the agenda imposed through force by Temer's unpopular and disastrous austerity government, with an avalanche of reforms and cuts being passed, including cabinet ministries, budgets, labor reform that would never be passed if there was a referendum. The pension reform and precariousness of our already precarious workforce and job insecurity, in addition to more repression and violence.

US support - In 2013, the former spy of NSA Snowden reported that Brazil was the main target of US espionage. Wikileaks reported that Temer was a CIA informant. The neoliberal agenda pushed by force in Brazil with clear US support is that once again Brazil will become the strategic tentacle of the United States in the Americas. Brazil was bold when it released itself a bit from US control, by aligning itself with the BRICS and consolidating the Mercosur bloc. Mostly because of its partnership with China, the US could not allow this to last long.Trump will see in Bolsonaro an island in the middle of enormous international rejection that both face against them, and this love is reciprocal. This probable alliance is also threatening considering the current political aspect of the world we live in.

Neoliberalism 2.0 (friendly fascism) - Bolsonaro has no interest in govern for the middle class, let alone the poor. His financial advisor, Paulo Guedes, makes it clear that, aligned with the aforementioned neoliberal agenda in its fascist form, Bolsonaro is another government of them (of the elite, the masters), to rule for them (elite, the masters). If there are still doubts about this, take a look at how the stock market reacted in both elections (Trump and Bolsonaro). The nomination and acceptance of a position in the Ministry of Justice by Moro also makes clear the very solid corporatism of Brazilian government and justice. Moro jailed Lula, Bolsonaro's main rival, and for 7 times denied that he would take any political job. Well, he took Bolsonaro's invitation without thinking twice and in his words, "he felt honored." Hypocrisy at its best.
Paulo Guedes also defends more privatizations and his tax reform does not let us to know who will benefit, but we can have an idea that it is going to be the elite. Unfortunately, contrary to what motivated many innocent people to vote for Bolsonaro, there is absolutely nothing more status quo, more establishment than what this government proposes.

Violence - Obviously it will be the flagship of Bolsonaro politics. Brazil lists as the most violent countries in the Americas and respect for human rights is very low. Bolsonaro's election is already blood-stained with reports throughout the country of people being killed or attacked by Bolsonaro voters. The polarization remains very strong and toxic. What is even more surprising is that Bolsonaro's campaign focus in the intensification of police repression with the use of unlimited violence against social movements and the increase of arms sold in the population with the idea that this will reduce violence. More use of violence tools to reduce violence? It sounds like lobbyists and gun manufactures type of talk.

Defective Congress and conservative - It will not be easy for anyone to deal with a country with a fracture exposed by the generalized crisis, the gov will also find difficulties in the congress, we do not know how the de-characterized Congress will behave without the hegemony of the MDB that suffered predictable loss of seats (they lost half of their seats) and rising of Bolsanaro's PSL, a"mysterious" party probably representing the more conservative and retrograde sectors of the country. The bullet, the rural, and especially the evangelical representatives in congress have grown significantly and are so retrograde that they should not even have half the power they already have. Ironically, the PT the Workers Party, despite unaccountable media attacks, remains the party with the highest number of seats in the congress. It will also require an effort to make alliances, even more with a possible departure from the PDT and a new alliance on the left.

Regimental Vice-President- as if all the threats against the fragile Brazilian democracy were not enough, we have the presence of an obscure and authoritarian figure like General Mourão, vice president who without saying much can show how bad he is. If something happens with Bolsonaro, his vice takes over and anything but progress can happen.

Brazilian corporate media - it has always been aligned with the interests of the elite, owned by 6 rich families, there were light arguments between journalists of this mass media, even between well-known anti-PT(the workers Party) trying to put a brake on the increase of hate, it was a bit late. This is also confirmed in the threats, boycotts and retaliations that journalists who go against the Bolsonaro wave are often suffering. Our ranking of freedom of the press is disastrous, but nothing that can not get even worse. Bolsonaro's strategy of keeping isolation from the media worked during his campaign for presidency. He will mantain his isolation from the corporate media, putting it into quarantine and will speak only to those who support him, such as Record TV, a kind of Fox News with Bible.

Hope? As long as there is resistance, yes. 42 million Brazilian voters (more than 2 states of São Paulo) did not vote for anyone. 47 million voted for the other candidate. In total these are 90 million who did not vote for Bolsonaro. The class of the artists also stands against the fascism of Bolsonaro. The government will have to take this noise. Even with so much resistance we are astonished to see this dark patch that takes over some parts of the planet with the most loaded agenda of everything the system has to offer, destruction of social policies, destruction and attack on the environment and concentration of power , in addition to the increase of violence and misery.

It's still early winter, which began a few years back. The beginning of winter can be bearable when we have an idea of ​​when it will end. In Brazil we do not have this idea.

To say that Brazil has been living in a fragile democracy since 1989, when we had the first elections after dictatorship, has become even more noticeable by those who maintain a mild level of media veganism.

To realize that since 2013 this fragility has increased and if during the turbulent demonstrations of June of that year there was a fear of a military coup, especially among the elders, a fear that was justified by the incapacity to govern by President Dilma, the fear was also explained by the history of coups in our country, today the tension and expectations are even greater. What we have in question is not “only” the threat of officers, like General Mourão in a speech promoted by the Masonic lodge in Brasília. This was also noticed in a recent speech by President Temer when he said: “…in 1964 the people rejoiced because again there was an absolute centralization of power…”. Such a statement was made a few days before the 54th anniversary of the coup. That can be viewed here.

The scenario is of political institutions in check because of the corruption scandals, a president with almost 1% of popularity, unemployment in record rates despite the lower interest rates and stable inflation, and increasing disparity in a population living in a moment of general disbelief. And now there is more speculation whether there will be elections this year.

And mainly,  the “Lula factor”. This factor will be crucial to understanding what will happen by the October elections. The presidential polls have been showing him as a preferred candidate, in contrast to the uncertainty about his candidacy due to the conviction, the doubt about possible prison to be decided on April 4, the rallies with Lula around the country, which brings up the worst of this polarisation, with people shooting buses and attacking Lula’s sympathizers, all this shows how a single figure can divide so much.

As if all this was not enough, the executions of councilwoman and activist Marielle and driver Anderson are still very hot.  Marielle’s death brought up the worst of this polarisation, apartheid Brazilian style. It was a unique action with political motivation but, because it was against a public figure, it had a worldwide repercussion – note that we are talking about a country where 58 activists are killed per year, more than one per week. Until now the culprits have not been found. It is believed that this political death will bring more moderate right to the centre, isolating the far right.

The military coup – as well as the shots that took the lives of Marielle and Anderson, does not give warning before: it explodes and when one realizes it; it is too late. A civil war, too.

Despite all the crisis scenarios, the unemployment rate is at 13m, if there have always been more chances of institutional attack than direct action, the reason is called Brazil. There is a huge separation between those in power and the rest of the population. In its massive territory, there are several “Brazils”, of different nations, different values, different classes that share a sense of individualism noticed by any European that passes by there on holidays. Furthermore, there is a great political alienation that can be illustrated in the daily incoherence of a good part of the population that has Lula (centre-left views) as its first candidate and Bolsonaro (conservative, far-right views) as the second option. These inconsistencies, contrasts, disparities, isolation, these “Brazils” inside Brazil, as well as the lack of commitment to the country, something that distinguishes Brazil even from the northern neighbour of individualist culture, all this shadows any possibility of formation of popular national mobilisation.

To think Brazil, you have to live it. If naively we use the Eurocentric views to understand a reality so different from the one we live in Europe, we will not be fair. In the Brazilian way (jeitinho brasileiro) of doing things, everything makes sense and everything can be explained and solved. However, this way has been used in a very bad and threatening way to the country. Never have the three powers been so exposed in their games of interest. Recently, Minister Barroso, from the Supreme Court, called his colleague, Minister Mendes, a very controversial figure, “…a horrible person with traces of psychopathy…Your excellency shames us…being always after some interest that is not of justice”. In the Executive, we have the president surrounded by criminals, some of his friends recently arrested, but later released. Temer, himself, despite being the target of serious accusations of obstruction of justice and criminal organization, does not “rejoice” at a resignation. On the contrary, despite very low approval, he wants to be a candidate for president. “This is Brazil,” it would sum up even the poor candy salesman. And the threats to democracy that are still up in the air, or in the lips of the president and his gang leave the future even more uncertain. Will there be elections? Will Lula be arrested or not?

We have reached a point where it becomes necessary for the Brazilians to feel part of politics, to enjoy it, to feel like citizens, to participate democratically, to respect each other, to discuss ideas, not to demonise politics as it has been done, and to overcome hate, passions and egos in favor of a debate that brings the progress for all. Since 2013, we question when we will have this society and since 2013 the shadows of the threats towards our institutions are seen in every corner of the country. And it is the alienated people who suffer most of the consequences. Our political institutions have lost credibility and our system is collapsing. Brazil is a dramatic reflection of what is happening worldwide, and no one has an idea when this scenario can improve. Turbulent times.

Foram 2 meses peculiariarmente interessantes os que eu passei vivendo em Rosses Point, vila turística, no Condado de Sligo. Digo, vivendo, nao apenas existindo como fazemos em boa parte de nossas vidas. Era a última casa no alto de um morro, pequena e modesta mas aconchegante. Eu acordava de manha com o sol iluminando a casa inteira e ia caminhar ladeira abaixo até o Yeats Country Hotel, lá eu abria meu laptop e fazia um catch-up das notícias ao lado do meu fiel companheiro, o café! Ficava ali no bar do hotel como se fosse um hóspede. Trump has already declared this trade war to the world and the indications are that he could make it more intense. The US, just like the UK, have a hegemony that allows them to push to some radical measures and protectionist decisions because their power are sustained through foreign dependence, in particularly from the neighboring Latin American countries. Those countries need the US more than the other way around. However, Trump's action has nothing to do with protectionism, something fundamental for any country that seeks for autonomy and independence, but this action is a type of sanction or, "boycott" that does not usually bring to good outcomes, neither to the actors that promote them (in this case, the US) nor to the ones that will suffer the consequences of it (Canada, Mexico, China, Brazil...).
Take Russia, increasingly isolated, dedicating itself to intense militarism and trying to regain its influence, Putin once said that the perestroika was the worse thing that could happened to them.

I was always a big fan of whiskeys, from blender to single malts, until I crossed the border of Calais and went down to Val de Loire. Those days spoiling myself with homemade wine made me having second thoughts about the water of life also known as whisky. Whisky is a personal thing, it is you and you, a necessary solitude sometimes. Wine is romance, it is you with someone else.The reason why it took me so long to find that love for wine is that I've only tried the cheap ones. But, in Val de Loire I discovered a whole new world of poetry, passion and beauty. I remember this man who ran a vineyards in the country that we found by chance while driving through the fields of mid-France. I honked few times and by the time he came to open the gate for us we've been roasting in the french summer and I was thirsty and curious to try some white wine. He came quite frantically and agitated wearing very simple clothing, a bit dirty and smelly, sweating a lot, he shook my hands with a strong greeting, speaking very loud, with the strongest accent you can expect a french to have without sounding like they are taking the piss on us, or spitting on our face. French people are proud of their accent, we know that, but they are also proud of their wine. This man starts pointing and asking me which ones I wanted to try and I thought to myself "all of them", he then pours some on a glass, swirl it in order to get some oxygen and drinks it in front of me! Before swallow he gargles and then with a very pensive face for few seconds he shouts "verry good". I go next and tried it and we repeat this over and over. The man talks briefly about the wines, he is there to drink it and then share with his customers, but most of all he is selling his passion, a product that he believes has only one purpose, to make people happier. That afternoon we visited some vineyards mostly white wines, muscadet and I felt quite drunk due too much sun and too much wine. But that afternoon made me realized one thing that I will carry for the rest of my life, that wine is something that is there for one reason and that people should just like anything in life look for something, for life without seeking something is meaningless.

Black mirror tem enfatizado e amplificado a minha tecnofobia e ceticismo acerca de inovacoes. Ontem um senhor de idade me disse que trocou o nokia-tijolo por um smart phone depois de 14 anos com o mesmo aparelho. 14 anos!! Alguem imagina um celular durar isso? Um viva ao velho Nokia.

Sou saudosista a ponto de preferir algo que dure anos, nao soh com bens mas em relacionamentos, amizades, enfim. Qualidade deve estar sempre acima de quantidade. Percebo que isso eh cada vez mais antiquado e incompativel com a logica lucrativista do sistema. Compre, troque, compre, compre, troque, compre!!

Mas, voltando ao BM, receio que as pessoas fiquem mais idiotas do que ja estao devido aos devices "pensarem" por elas o tempo todo.

A teimosia que, eu prefiro chamar de relutancia, eh um atributo que tem um lado positivo que nenhum outro defeito tem, mais tarde vao perceber que o teimoso estava certo. Caetano disse, se o mundo eh imbecil por que eu tenho que ser?
